It’s Been A Year

we moved just before Thanksgiving last year 
my health was starting to get better 
i could stand, walk and do a few stairs 
sold our home in Utah
moved back to the river we loved 
back to the woods on the bluff 
that keep me safe from things that harm me
back to the beautiful red cardinals
and ever present bald eagles 
we walk down the halls at church 
and hug those we love
hearing their voices singing brings tears
we so love being back watching the glassblower
his love of all life encourages us
we enjoy our visiting friends 
and going to the temple with them
every day we drive down the street 
and round the corner to our amazement 
that the temple has been rebuilt!
we had total enjoyment watching 
a young glassblower grow in his talents
we jump around small creeks digging for geodes
and show our grandchildren fire flies for the first time
the joy of catch and the realization of release
thankful for leftover glass jars
pecan and maple trees
and leaves
lots of leaves
