One day three little girls were playing in their room
apparently becoming a bit rambunctious
Daddy, who had recently graduated from college
had recieved a paddle
something known as a “Board of Education”
it hung on a wall
Daddy warned these little girls a few times
they paid him no mind
exasperated, he told them he was going to paddle their behinds
still no attention
Daddy came back into the bedroom with the smooth wooden thing
the girls eyes got big
he told all three of them to turn around
this was a new development
never had they felt a paddle on their bums
three little girls waiting
waiting
and waiting
til they heard the click of the door handle
as he disappeared down the hall
